Facial At Asian Skin Solution

Greetings =)

Today has been a wonderful day. Not only did I get a facial done, I also spent quality time with my Mother and went through some retail therapy----> excuses for shopping LOL! Well, I have been really traumatized by my exams recently, so i do need therapy! EXCUSESEXCUSESLOL

I managed to win a free facial session through a giveaway organised by Tokyo Mode Addict. The facial was done at Asian Skin Solutions and I can't even put into words about how awesome their services were!! I'll still try to do so though.

It was a very exciting and satisfying first time for me. I know that people normally sleep through the facials, but I didn't! I was simply too excited! I went with my Mother who received a complimentary facial from them :) They are such nice people.

They have two branches. One at Park Mall, and one at Bugis Village. I went to the one at Bugis because it was more convenient for me!

I was too excited that I forgot to take pictures, so I borrowed them from the Asian Skin Solutions webpage~ Here they are!

The facilities look the same as those in the pictures! The whole place had scented oil and scented candles and the fragrance had a really soothing effect. While waiting before and after treatment, we were served with rose tea. The tea tasted really good! I have many cups of it!

One of the reasons that I was really excited to get a facial, was because I had multiple breakouts recently due to stress and lack of sleep ): It was really horrible okay.

Eheheh I look like a dead fish due to the nature of my contacts but don't run! See that huge pimple in the middle of my forehead? Its so ugly ): I was sure that I walked around with my head down today.

For people with skin like mine, its okay ): you are not alone!

For people who have flawless skin, NO FAIR D<

Sigh. I found out today that our body thinks of our skin as insignificant and they hold our organs in higher regard. Well, I certainly view it the other way around o.o

All the staff at Asian Skin Solutions were really nice! They smiled a lot and they were really friendly. They answered all our questions regarding the place with patience. They also made small talk with us in bid to make us feel more comfortable. Which I am really thankful for, because I was getting sort of nervous when I reached the place. It looked so high class x.x

Before starting, my Mother and I had to fill up some forms regarding our health and allergies, and they had some pretty interesting questions like 'Insomnia?', 'Irregular Period?', 'Cosmetic Surgeries?', 'Stress?', and 'Do you travel?'

After we cleared those forms, we went to get our skin checked by this skin professional. Her name was Eve and she was very pretty LOL. Sorry, I like to appreciate nice things hahahah! I was really shy in allowing her to look at my face and use her apparatus on it because I am not exactly very proud or confident of my skin. But if I was, I probably wouldn't be there LOL.

I already had some expectations regarding the results, but some parts of the results still shocked me o.o

My skin was considered to be a combination type. Oily, and dry. Oily, I expected, but DRY? NEVERRRRRRRR!! I was really baffled. I just stared O_O at her because, how can your skin be oily yet dry at the same time? She then proceeded to explain to me that my skin was oily, because it was too dry, which meant that my skin continued gushing out oil in order to help moisten my skin. Wah. Oil glands, thanks for the hard work ah, but its okay. You can stop working overtime now!

Did you know that our skin is actually in the form of nets? Like fishnet stockings. Except where fishnet stockings are black, the lines on our faces are white, and those lines are the collagen that helps to nourish our skin. She used her equipment to scan and take various pictures of my face and sigh. I felt so exposed. She could tell that I had scratched my skin and left small wounds on my face. So embarrassing! I wanted the ground to eat me up please.

My face was considered super oily!! Like my Mother D= It was also low in moisture, a little rough and full of dead skin cells! AHHHHH. How about I just stay at home and spare the world my face from this day on. Sigh. I asked her about eye bags and dark circles and she did another scan on me and after looking at the pictures from those scans, she pointed out that the areas under my eyes were actually more of a purple than red, which meant that there was a lack of blood circulation. Apparently, this is what happens when you tire your eyes out too much. Like from too much television, too much computer etc etc. She then asked me,'DO you lower your head to shampoo your hair when you shower?' I replied No and she said 'Good! Don't do that okay! Its bad for you if you do that when you already have poor blood circulation!'. Wow. Thank god that I have a poor neck then o.o I normally don't do that because my neck will be tired if I bend forward for a period of time.

Today, I also realized that my life has been a lie.

Sort of. This whole time, I've been thinking that I have oily skin, so I've been using various anti-oil products from The Body Shop and then today, Eve told me that those products were probably the ones attributing to the excess oil that my skin produced. Not only that, people of my age/teenagers, should be using liquid/serum based moisturizer instead of cream based moisturizer, because cream based is less easily absorbed and may instead end up removing the pre-existing collagen on our skin.

*stares at The Body Shop products*

*stares at cream based moisturizer*

*incessant shooting at pre-mentioned products*

So I've been dooming myself and my skin by trying to save it while I was ignorant. I'm so sorry my skin ): Your master is a dumb dumb who tried to help you without doing any research ): Without the collagen on your face, you will look older and your skin will sag as you grow older! No wonder I look so old lah. I've been removing collagen from my skin unknowingly.

After the skin consultation, came the facial treatment! There is no 'standard' face treatment at Asian Skin Solutions. Every single treatment is specially catered to your needs! Just like how I went for a PH balance restoring treatment to help my skin be less dry and less oily while my Mother went for a pigment reducing treatment where she got dark spots removed.

The room that the treatment was done in was really nice! The bed was really comfortable looking, and they had this cupboard where you were to change into this tube-top dress sort of apparel before you start your treatment! The blanket/comforter was really comfortable. It smelled so good. Once again, I must emphasize that the entire place smelled extremely nice!

I had many things done to me during my treatment. Instead of sleeping, i ended up chatting to Eve, who was attending to me. I learnt many things from her! Like how she loves manga and anime, especially Detective Conan, and that she's a Malaysian! She was so sweet and gentle, like an elder sister! I really wanted to take a picture with her, but she said that they had this company policy where they are not allowed to take pictures with their clients ):

This were the things that were done to me! Eve told me everything and i memorized them all! (I think o.o) Aish. Should have asked her for a list zzz.

I did a

  • Face & Neck Wash
  • Double Cleanse
  • Scrub
  • Steam
  • Comedone Lotion
  • HF+ PH Formula
  • Acne & Blackheads Ridding
  • Eyebrows Threading/Shaping (I was so surprised when she asked me o.o)
  • Head, Face, Eye & Neck Massage
  • Face Cryoeal Macuine + PH Formula
  • Soothing
  • Hydrating
  • Face Mask
  • Soft Mask
  • Hard Mask
  • Shoulder Massage
When it was all over and she told me that I could get off and change, I sort of refused to LOL I was so comfortable okay. I really didn't want to move. I could just lie down and sleep till tomorrow but I can't ): My Mother was waiting for me outside and until now, I still have no idea what she did o.o

After I changed and went out, I was once again served with that nice rose tea. I wanted to ask them for a whole pot of it HAHAHAHA. But I can't be so thick skinned LOL. My first time there leh. For all you know, they may choose to ban me from their place xD ---> They didn't

I could see some visible differences after the treatment was over. I was literally glowing, my skin felt firm and bouncy, and it felt really smooth and hydrated! Don't ask me 'How do you feel that it's hydrated?' okay. You'll just know.

Here is an after picture!

The previously glaring pimple that was in the middle of my forehead is now not so red, nor swelling so much as compared to before! This is because Eve helped me to squeeze all the pus out of all my undesirable pimples! Now its going to heal much quicker!

Another thing I learnt today, is that whitening products, dries up your skin. So to avoid having to use whitening products, simple use more sun screen! So simple isn't it! LOL. I wish I thought of that sooner. Maybe my skin could have avoided such sadness ):

Overall, it was a really fun experience and I can't wait to go back for my facial treatment on 11th of November! Told you that they didn't ban me from their place xD

Asian Skin Solutions is giving away complimentary facials! This means that its free!

Call 6767 0077 to make an appointment!

For weekdays, the earliest time that they can attend to you is 11 am, and the latest time that they can attend to you is 7 pm.

For weekends, the earliest that they can attend to you is 11 am, while the latest time that they can attend to you is 5 pm!

Each treatments lasts about 2 hours! The first 30 minutes is spent analyzing your skin! But the time taken for the treatments is different for everyone, because each treatment is specially catered to your needs! Have fun, enjoy the treatment and take care! :)

Good bye!

REVIEW | Sleek Makeup - i-Divine Snapshots Makeup Palette

Ahhh, I finally got away from my books to blog.

Studying is so tiring, but everyone keeps telling me to hang in because it will all be over in 3 weeks' time. All the best to me then! I am really happy that I am blogging now, because blogging helps me to relax and just enjoy. For the time being at least!

Oops xD I ended up rambling once again didn't I? HAHAHA! Sorry about that! Lets start with the review then! :)

Also from my birthday pile, is this amazing Sleek Makeup - I-Divine Snapshots Makeup Palette! This was the second box that I opened! Like the previous Candy Collection Palette, which was the first one that I opened, when I first saw it, I thought that it was really 'sleek' and cool looking, because it is so thin, nicely sized, and travel adaptable. However, like towards the other palettes, I had reservations about it. So, as per usual, I went to Google as well as the specific Sleek Makeup website for it to do my research as well as to read some reviews!

After being 'wow-ed' by the Candy Collection Makeup Palette ( A review i did here ), my expectations of Sleek Makeup Palettes have seriously rocketed. And true enough, I wasn't disappointed. WOW. I just stared unblinkingly at it for the first 5 minutes after looking at the picture that the website provided. Here's a picture of it!

The moment I saw this, it was an instant 'BAM! IN LOVE' situation and I was pretty sure that I looked something like this

All googly eyes with hearts appearing and bubbling around me. At that moment, I thought 'I think that this will be my favourite palette for sure out of all the others!' ----> Which, I was not very sure of then, because I haven't exactly went to see the others .__. But now that I have already seen them all, maybe not so much :|

This palette was really an 'AHHHHHHH. OH MYYYY!! SO PRETTYYYYYYYY' palette. Don't the colours simply make you go 'Awwww'?? I mean, it reminds me so much of summer and fun, because the colours are so bright and mood lifting. Just by looking at them, a smile already graces my face :)

Like the Candy Collection Makeup Palette, I also prayed that the colours would be duly pigmented and vibrant upon then skin because it would really be such a pity, if the colours end up being really pale and looking nothing like how it looks like in the palette.

Once again, to my relief, reviews mentioned that the colours are as pigmented as they look and they all turn out nice on the skin! :) Starting from this post on, I don't think that I'll have to worry about the other palettes or read reviews anymore, because I am pretty sure that all the Sleek Makeup Palettes will live up to expectation! ( Don't disappoint me ;D )

Here is what Sleek Makeup has to say about it!

Yay! I sort of guessed correctly what it reminds people of? xD Maybe they should hire me :) Just kidding! ( Or am I? ;D )

This is the packaging/box that it came in! Simple, pretty and gives people and inkling of what is to be expected! By displaying the colours in little mounds of powder like this, I think that it really shows how pigmented and concentrated the colours are, as the colours are all displayed individually and they do not try to steal the 'limelight' from the other colours! Once again, that is my own thinking of course :)

Inside the palette was

  • A mirror ( the box is covering it :< )
  • 12 different eyeshadows
  • A double ended brush
  • A piece of plastic with the names of the various eyeshadows printed on it
As per usual, I will name and review the colours in batches of fours, so that its not so confusing for us all o.o Two colours from the top row and two colours from the bottom row will be considered a 'batch' :)

I apologize for the grainy texture ):

I am sort of poor and hence, am unable to afford a proper camera ):

But that isn't going to stop me from blogging!

Lets start from top to bottom, left to right!

The above colours are Summer Breeze, Martini, Sand Walker and Washed Ashore.

Summer Breeze was a minty shade of green and it reminded me of peppermint ice cream! :) I sort of expected that an eyeshadow named 'Summer' would be Yellow/Golden because to me, summer usually means loads and loads of sun! :) Summer Breeze, although having turned out the same shade on the skin as when it is on the palette, isn't very pigmented, and I think that it is much more suited for an eyeshadow base to set the colour. You could still use it if you want a subtle colour though! :)

Martini was a light shimmery gold and it reminds me of just plain ol' gold! Not very creative, but I'll call them as I see them! :) Martini wasn't exactly pigmented. For people who use plan to use this as an eyeshadow on its own, you should refrain from rubbing your eyes, because, unlike the other matte eyeshadows, if you rub your eyes after applying this on, you'll find that all the 'gold' of the eyeshadow, will be on your fingers, leaving only the shimmer on your eyelids. I suggest using this as the top most layer for your eyeshadow :)

Sand Walker was aptly named! It is this nice, warm looking shade of brown that reminds me of Starbuck's Mocha Coco Frappuccino!! It is not very strongly pigmented but it is not bad! It appears on the skin the same shade as when it is on the palette! It is extremely easy to blend but even if you do not blend it well, this eyeshadow still causes a nice gradient to form :) Tried it and loved it! :)

Washed Ashore was a mix of brown and orange and reminds me caramelized oranges! :) Sadly, this eyeshadow doesn't look much like how it does on the palette when applied in the skin. This eyeshadow ends up having more of a soft peachy hue when it is applied on the skin and to be honest, it blends in exactly with my foundation so it doesn't look like I have eyeshadow on at all. Good thing? Bad thing? You decide xD

The above colours are Kiwi Flower, Lotus Flower, Sunset and Green Iguana!

Kiwi Flower was this bright shade of green that reminds me of Pear Drop (top left), except that it is infused with much more shimmer and glitter! This eyeshadow isn't very pigmented and much like the Martini, it comes off easily when you rub it, so be careful with it!

Lotus Flower was this lilac looking shade of purple and it reminds me of Syringas/Lilacs, just with additional glitter and shimmer added on! :) Surprisingly, while this particular eyeshadow may be a glittery one, unlike the others, it is actually quite pigmented! However, the glitter and shimmer in the eyeshadow is quite hard to blend and if your skills are as bad as mine or you do not have enough time, I suggest you refrain from using this eyeshadow because if you do not blend this well, it will end up 'lumpy', where the glitter and shimmer is heavier on one side than the other. :<

Sunset was this blood red looking colour that was infused with loads of glitter and shimmer. Why did I say that it looks blood red? It is because this shade of red lacks the vibrancy and brightness that makes it look like Santa Red. HAHAHAH! This eyeshadow, is not very pigmented as well, and when you apply it on, what goes on is actually more of the shimmer and glitter than the colour of the eyeshadowitself. When you try to spread it, I am actually sad and irked to say that the colour ends up taking on this brownish tint that resembles dried blood. Eyuck ): Like Lotus Flower, avoid using this if you do not have passable blending skills sorry ):

Green Iguana was a really nice looking shade of forest green and it is really soft and comfortable on the eyes. It is quite pigmented and while it may look glittery, it has actually more of a shimmery base and it is quite pigmented as well! Though the colour looks more matte on the skin than on the palette :)

These are the last four colours of the palette! And they are Humming Bird, Tequila Sunrise, Purple Haze and Magenta Madness!

Humming Bird was in a sense, like Green Iguana. It was a much more shimmery based eyeshadow than glittery eyeshadow. It also appears a lot more matte on the skin than on the palette. Due to its shimmery base, when you view the eyeshadow under certain angles and lights, it actually looks turquoise like, and it really reminds me of how I would imagine a mermaid's tail to be like. Like this! So pretty~~ :) It is pretty pigmented :)

Tequila Orange was this bright shimmery and glittery eyeshadow that sadly, didn't really live up to my expectations of its actual colour. I mean, when I looked at the picture by the website, the orange shown was really bright, while the orange that came was sort of duller and darker ): It is quite pigmented though! :) Like the previous two eyeshadows. its more of a shimmery based eyeshadow, which I am glad for, because I really wouldn't want to go around with a glittery dull orange eyeshadow ): Its so..weird! I am also glad that it turned out more matte on the skin than on the palette! :)

The last two colours are secretly my favourites! :)

Purple Haze was a beautiful deep shade of indigo and royal purple and it is quite pigmented! It is quite matte and it appears on the skin exactly how it appears on the palette! :) It is easy to blend and it is good to use if you want to attain a smoky effect on your lids!

Magenta Madness was a funky bright shade of pink, that could possibly pass off as neon pink and reminds me so much of Barbie. It is a matte colour, though it turns a shade lighter when you apply in on the skin. The final effect is strong looking shade of pink that isn't very concentrated! It's still a good eyeshadow though! :)

If I have to rate this, I will actually give it 7? because the glitters weren't exactly easy to blend and even though most of the eyeshadows weren't actually as vibrant or as pigmented as I had originally wished for, the eyeshadows were still usable if I want to go for a light look :) I am sort of disappointed with this palette though ):

You can get this palette from HERE through Luxola.

Thank you for sticking by to read this through! Hope you enjoyed it :) Will review the other two palettes once I have time! :)

Bye!

REVIEW | Mentholatum Mogitate Kajitsu Lip Balm

Yesterday night, I received a question asking 'What is your favourite lip balm?' , which was then followed by a request 'Can you do a review on it?'

Ahahaha, I really shouldn't be doing this now though. I should be studying really hard now, but I know that if I don't do this and hurry up and get it off my chest, I'll end up like this

Thats why I'm here now! xD

Lets start with the review!

You know how most girls want to be beautiful, and they can invest so much in products that benefit their faces and hair? Well, its sad to say that most of them, having focused on their hair and face and nails, end up neglecting their lips ): I'm guilty of that fact! Until one day, I looked in the mirror and !@#$%^&*()

WERE THOSE REALLY MY LIPS?! Oh gosh, they were dry, chapped and peeling. Yucks ):

I found out, that the skin on our lips are thin as compared to the skin that is covering our body. Unlike our skin however, our lips does not have glands to help keep them smooth and soft. That explains why our lips get chapped very easily when dry. Especially in a country like Singapore, where it can be said that summer occurs 365 days a year ):

No one wishes to have chapped lips like this right? ( I didn't want to post the picture x.x )

All of us females wish to have soft, smooth pouty lips like this right!

Even if you don't want them, its okay, CAUSE I WANT THEM ):

So, its time to invest in a good lip balm if you haven't already got one!

I recommend this Mentholatum Mogitate Kajitsu Lip Balm! It is made with real, natural fruit juice and honey. Sounds yummy! :D The packaging also states that it is the No.1 lip balm in Japan, and that got me a little suspicious, because honestly, how many times have you seen products that claims that they are No. 1 in this aspect or that aspect yet they are not very good? I have seen it quite a few times sadly. Heres a picture of it

Picture Credit to Deenise Glitz (I opened mine already oops :P )

However, it wasn't difficult to believe that this product clinched the No. 1 lip balm position after you give it a try! The moment that you twist the cap off, you are enveloped in the sweet natural smelling scent of fruits. There has been many times where I have been asked 'Are you eating candy?' by my friends when I am using this product. When you apply it onto your lips, unlike some other lip balms, it doesn't leave a sticky feeling that seems to make your lips stick together. I hate it when that happens =_=. Instead, it leaves your lips feeling soft, smooth and hydrated!

Here it is out of its packaging!

Sorry for the grainy quality :<

This Mogitate Kajitsu Lip Balm comes in 5 different flavours, and they are

  • Grape & Berry
  • Strawberry
  • Orange & Mango
  • White Peach
  • Lemon & Lime
I own this cute lip balm in Grape & Berry, as well as Strawberry and I love it too bits. While there have been many close contenders for the No. 1 favourite lip balm in my heart, this always comes out on top!

Here is a picture of them all!

SaSa sells them as well! :D I know that the packaging looks different from what I posted, but have no worries! The product inside is still one and the same!

I hope that I may have influenced some people to get this lip balm or change to this lip balm from this day on? :) Try it out and tell me what you think!

Now, its time for me to go back to my books sigh ):

Good bye and Cheers!

REVIEW | Sleek Makeup - i-Divine Candy Collection Limited Edition Makeup Palette

I thought, 'Since I've started, why stop?' HAHAHA, so here I am once again!

Also from my birthday pile, is this wonderful Sleek Makeup- I-Divine Candy Collection Limited Edition Makeup Palette. When I first saw it in its packaging, I thought 'Wow, the packaging is quite pretty, but is this any good? I've never used anything by Sleek Makeup except for its contouring set which I absolutely love to bits. So, I went to Google and did some research on it at the specific Sleek Makeup website for it as well as to read some reviews.

The results were pretty exciting. The website showed how the palette look and gosh .__. I was utterly mind blown. IT LOOKED SO GORGEOUS OH GOSH. Here's a picture of it before I start fangirling an rambling.

Doesn't it make you go 'Wow! So cool!!' ? The colours look fantastic. They look so strong and vibrant and I prayed quite hard that they will turn out looking as they do when it is applied onto your skin. Too many a time have I been cheated by strong looking colours that end up being really pale on your skin.

To my relief though, most of the reviews mentioned that it was really pigmented, smooth and easy to blend. Thank the norns (Kudos to you if you know where this came from ;D) I really had it with eyeshadows that don't really blend well. In all my attempts to blend the eyeshadow, I either find myself seemingly digging my eyeballs out of their sockets, or unevenly blending them so that one side of my eyelid is light in colour while the other side is dark in colour.

At this point, I think that you may be thinking. 'What kind of makeup is she using??' Ah, I'm not saying any names. That brand is normally quite good, so I just blame it on my luck and lack of skills sigh.

Ahh, I think I have really rambled too much. Time to start talking about the product!

This is what Sleek Makeup has to say about it!

The names sound so exciting don't they! I really love to look at the various names that companies give their makeup. It's pretty cool! Can you imagine a colour being called Gloomy? I envision that it would be a Greyish-Pinkish colour . Got the idea from Gloomy Bears :D

Well, this is the packaging/box that it came in and I really appreciate the thought that went into this. I mean, the designer could just use plain ol' cupcakes for the cover, but they didn't. Instead, they chose to use cupcakes(?)/papers(?) in the form of roses to act as the cupcakes, which I think was quite innovative. I really like that the background was white, because otherwise, it would be drawing people's attention away from the pictures.

Inside the palette was
  • A mirror (The box is covering it :<)
  • 12 different eyeshadows
  • A double ended brush
  • A piece of plastic with the names of the various eyeshadows printed on it
The first thing that I did, was to look at the names and try to match them to the colour. I think that some of the names given fit, while others...not so much ): Thats my own personal thinking of course!

I'll name and review the colours in batches of fours, so that its not so confusing for us all o.o Two colours from the top row and two colours from the bottom row will be considered a 'batch' :)

Sorry for the grainy texture ):

Lets start from top to bottom, left to right!

The above colours are Strawberry Sherbet, Bon Bon, Liquorice and Blue Fizzle.

Strawberry Sherbet was pink and funky, reminds me of Barbie and strongly pigmented! It turned out on the skin the same as when it was on the palette!

Bon Bon was shimmery, a nice mixture of red and pink, reminds me of Barbie as well and not so strongly pigmented! It turned out to be not as concentrated as it looks, when you apply it, it seems to spread out on its own. When you apply it to a certain area and compare it with another matte eyeshadow, it is quite obvious that Bon Bon looks lighter and doesn't stick to the area that it is applied on so much.

Liquorice was dark, pigmented, concentrated and reminds me of Batman. Unlike other black eyeshadows that ends up fading to grey, this eyeshadow remains a solid black and is definitely a good substitute for eyeliner should the need ever arises o.o

Blue Fizzle was shimmery, a nice shade of dark blue that is bordering on dark purple, reminds me of the evening sky before the light completely fades out and its not so strongly pigmented as well! However, unlike the Bon Bon eyeshadow, this looks quite close to how it looks like on the palette! Minus the looking like dark purple at some points though.

The above colours are Parma Violet, Apple Sour, Aniseed and Bubble Gum!

Parma Violet was pigmented, turned out darker than it looks in the palette, and reminds me of eggplants o.o

Apple Sour was a nice mix of green and blue, and like all its other predecessors, turned out not so strongly pigmented. While it looks like and reminds me of the sea in Greece, it actually turns out to be more of a turquoise, greenish looking colour when you apply it to your skin!

Aniseed was like Bon Bon, a nice mix of red and pink, and it reminds me of Barbie also ._. I give up. Almost everything that is vaguely pink, I will just link it to Barbie okay. This eyeshadow, being a shimmery one, is unsurprisingly, not so pigmented. However, when you apply it, the colour is actually a darker shade of pink going towards red. Do you get what I mean? As in it looks darker on your skin but like all other shimmery products, it is not as concentrated as the other matte eyeshadows.

Bubble Gum was not aptly named I think o.o Due to my unknown strong belief that anything named Bubble Gum should be pink. I wonder how I developed that sort of thinking o.o This eyeshadow is a nice shade of Sky Blue that reminds me of forget-me-nots. This eyeshadow is different from the other eyeshadows in the sense that it actually appears lighter when you apply it on your skin. It's a good base if you want to layer many shades of blue!

These are the last four colours! And they are Pear Drop, Flump, Mint Cream and Cream Soda!

Pear Drop was a brilliant shade of neon looking light green and it is my favourite colour out of this whole batch of eyeshadows! It is so strongly pigmented and it simply makes your eyes pop!The colour somehow reminds me of acid though o.o I sort of expected it to be named Acid Apple or something along these lines LOL.

Flump was a nice shade of violet and it strongly reminds me of this purple Gloomy Bear that I have at home! While it was a matte eyeshadow, sadly, it wasn't as concentrated as the other eyeshadows! It is still quite pigmented though! :)

Mint Cream, was a mix of blue and green, though it sort of gravitate towards a green turquoise colour! It reminds me immensely of Hatsune Miku's hair. Though, when you apply it to your skin, the colour ends up looking rather greenish unlike its blueish appearance in the palette! It is also not strongly pigmented ): I suggest you use this as an eyeshadow base

Cream Soda, was a shimmery whitish beige-ish colour and it reminds me of the cream that felines love! While it may not be as pigmented as the other matte eyeshadows, I believe that it can act as a great waterline highlighter! It may not be very pigmented but it is quite concentrated if you apply it carefully!

If I have to rate this, I'll give it a 8.5/10? because the packaging was good, most of the colours were pigmented and even those that weren't very pigmented, were also good, smooth, blend-able and easy to use! Price wise, I can't comment because I don't know the price of the palette. Let me know if you do? I'll do the reviews for my other palettes when I have the time!

Ahh, thats for all! Thanks for sticking by and reading through this whole post! Sorry if my review wasn't up to your expectations. Will try harder! However, I hope that you have a vague idea of what you are in for when you buy this or receive this like I did! :)

Cheers!

UPDATE (11/10/13) : THE ABOVE PRODUCT CAN ALSO BE PURCHASED FROM HERE :) ENJOY!

REVIEW | Benefit Cosmetics - How To Look The Best At Everything Flawless Makeup Set

Its been quite a while since I blogged. I couldn't really help it though ): School has taken up so much of my time ): It makes me so sad okay, the past few years, at this time of the year, I'll be running around, fooling around and touching my makeup 24/7. Now, I'll be lucky if I manage to touch it once every two weeks!

Everyday, I'm practically like this okay.

I just want to stay in by bed and curl up and snooze! But cannot ): My school books are waiting for me -_- Sigh.

Okay lets cut the crap and start with the review! :)

Recently, I received a Benefit Cosmetics - How To Look The Best At Everything Flawless Makeup Set from Liy for my birthday, and I was really happy because I have heard various good things about their products and I couldn't wait to give it a try!

Although it may be called makeup set, it focuses mainly on the foundation of the face instead of other things like eyeshadow for the eyes or lipstick for the lips.

This is the information provided on it by the internet. (Credits to Sephora)

The one that I will be talking about today is the Medium makeup set, because that is the one that I have. I may tend to start fangirling over the product when I talk but that is considered normal for me because it just shows how excited I am over that specific product.

Here is the product.

Ahh, I just have so much feels towards this Flawless Complexion Makeup Kit. It's probably the closest that I can ever get to perfection. Not only is the packaging uberly adorable, the items inside are also endearing and they posses rather quaint names LOL. This whole makeup set comes in the form of a book, which I thought was pretty interesting and unique.

This set consists of 4 items and they are a pore primer/toner (?) Its the thingy that helps you to close your pores o.o A bottle of foundation, a set of two concealors, and lastly, pressed powder.

Now is the part where I tell you about the interesting names of all the products. The pore primer/toner thingy is called 'the POREfessional'. It's a play on the word professional! I thought that was pretty smart ehehehe. It is referred to as the 'PRO balm to minimize the appearance of pores'. I can't tell you if it's good or not, cause I haven't tried it yet LOL! You see, I sort of forgot/didn't realise that this was included, so I went to use my Maybelline Pore Eraser. It was only after I used it, that I realised that I had this and went 'AISHHHHH.' Oh well. There's always next time. By the way, this is a picture of it. The one included in the set is smaller (Of course .__.) but it doesn't mean that its going to run out fast! It just means that you should not anyhow use it, but instead give more thought on where you are going to use it on.

It should probably have the same functions as the Maybelline Pore Eraser I guess. Since they both help to close the pores.

The next item, is the bottle of foundation. It's called 'I'm so money HONEY' while the bottle also states 'HELLO FLAWLESS - OXYGEN WOW BRIGHTENING MAKEUP'. AHAHAHAH!! I'm so money Honey! LOL! Sounds like me XD Omg, I could understand the 'HELLO FLAWLESS' part, but the 'OXYGEN WOW' portion just sent me into fits of giggles. I don't understand why either o.o Okay, I used this yesterday, so I can tell you how its like. It's literally 'Wow. Fantastic baby!'. The texture of it gosh. It was a nice blend of cream and liquid foundation and it was really easy to spread and blend. The coverage that it provides is also wonderful as well. When I first saw the small bottle, I thought 'Whattttt! So small :< It probably won't last me very long eh. But when I tried it out, I believe that it can end up lasting for quite a bit, because you only need one small pump of the foundation to cover your whole face o.o

It covers up almost all of the existing blemishes. (Except for those redder than my skin colour portions aka pimples ): ) It makes your skin look matte and it feels really smooth when you touch your skin. I couldn't stop molesting my cheeks yesterday. It also has a rather natural looking finish. You know how sometimes you put on foundation and its quite obvious? Well, this foundation do not really have that problem. It just blends in so well with your skin. I swear that the only reason people knew that I had makeup on was because no one has such nice skin =3=

This is how it looks like! Followed by the swatches :)

The next item, would be the set of concealors. They come in two different shades and this concealor has a pretty interesting name o_o It's called 'BOI-ING' ._. You know.. like the sound effects people give to rabbits when they jump?? Boing boing o.o I don't exactly see the link but I did have a good laugh over it :) These concealors are so good! I just pat some onto my pimples and WAHLAH. Instant disappearance of pimples >] The two concealors can also be mixed and blended in order to help provide you with the correct shade of concealor that you want :) It provides really good coverage and it is a strongly advised as well as needed item for people who tend to have breakouts like I do!

Here is the picture, as well as swatches for it. The concealors included are 02 and 03, and they do not look like this in the makeup set. Instead, they are placed as two squares side by side. If this confuses you, look up.

The last item would be the powder and its called 'I'm cute as a bunny HONEY' Gah so cutee! Maybe I'm the only psycho that thinks this way ): Well, this powder is smooth and nice smelling! The powder is really fine. and because it is so fine, it also helps to set your foundation and concealor by getting into the fine spaces that your foundation and concealor both missed to help hold it in place. Another good thing is that when you want to touch up your makeup, if you are too lazy to go reapply your concealor, you can just use the powder to cover it up! It works too as it provides great coverage like the concealor! If you are wondering if you could skip the concealor and just powder your face, its fine too, just that the concealor causes it to work better. Its up to you really.

Here is the picture and swatches of the powder!

Don't you just simply love the names??

Overall, I think that if I have to rate this, I'll give it a 9/10 --> based on current situations o.o I mean, it looks good. The cost of this is quite reasonable and the final result is pretty good. This makeup set costs $50 and you can get it from any local Sephora store :) The price, to some, may cause you to want to pull your hair out, but let me explain!

You see, the current things I have that resembles the above 4 products are my Maybelline Pore Eraser, my FairyDrops foundation, my Revlon PHOTOREADY concealor and my FairyDrops powder / Revlon Pressed Powder. The price of the above 4/5 items were about (in order) $16(sale), $2(sale, originally $25?), $15(sale), $2(sale, originally $25?) and $21(sale). If I didn't buy them on sale, they would amount to $102?? It's not that the products are horrible and that they are not doing their job well. The products are good, really! It's just that the Benefit Cosmetics products were better!

Ah yes, before I forget, this makeup set comes in two/three(?) other skin tone shades! There are a total of 3/4(?) kinds. Light, Fair, Medium and Deep! I didn't know about deep until I visited the Sephora website, because apparently, Singapore only sells 3 kinds. Light, Fair and Medium. As far as I know that is o.o

Here are pictures of all 4 shades!

Hope you enjoyed this post and my review of the makeup set!

Cheers!
